Christmas Gifts

The tradition of offering Christmas gifts dates back to many centuries ago. One day I started wondering how old the tradition was. I did some research, but I did not find anything conclusive. I have heard that even those who do not celebrate Christmas still give Christmas gifts to one another. People buy all sort of things for one another for Christmas: electronics, toys, or even discounted diamond engagement rings. The most original gift I have ever been given was a Halloween costume. I still keep wondering why somebody gave me the gift without consulting me about it first. For me, choosing a Halloween costume is something that I should do on my own. As I have stated before, some people choose to give engagement rings for Christmas. In order to be able to so, they need to have somebody to give a ring to. Of course, if they do not have somebody to propose to, they will not be able to give an engagement ring as a present.
